Fishing Reel Upgrades
If i'm not careful, fishing is going to be expensive. When possible, i get myself the best gear i can afford. At the moment, that $120 reel is a bit too much, but i went ahead with it anyway. The first reel and rod i bought was cheap. I wanted to see if i'd enjoy doing this and going full-time on fishing. And i did. The first thing i returned was the rod. It was a telescoping rod that was about 1.5 meters long. I bought it because it fit in my bag when i'm out doing runs. I found me a shakespeare 7-foot rod for $2 on fb marketplace. It took me two hours to pakenham to get the rod, then another two hours to get home. Good thing public transport is free. I was able to bring my bike and rode the last 2km to the seller's house. After getting the rod, i was ok with the diwa fishing reel for a while. But then it broke. Somehow the crank arm got loose and fell into the river. It's a good thing that it was still returnable.
